Adline Lamb

Adline Patton Lamb was born February 5, 1921 in Tadmor, TX to the late Henrietta Simpson-Wiley and Bob Patton. She was the eldest of her siblings. She was raised by her grandmother, Adline Stewart, in the Tadmor Community.

She completed her education at the Tadmor Community school. She accepted Christ at an early age and united with Bethel CME Methodist Church in Tadmor, Texas where she served as a stewardess and member of the choir. She was involved in mission, member of the Eastern Star where she served as treasurer for many years. She enjoyed helping and caring for the people in her community. She worked as a home health provider, taking care of the elderly in the community for many years. Her love for the outdoors and nature led her to work for the Forestry Service where she served her community until she retired. She had blessed hands that were filled with love and compassion. Whether she was holding your hand or cultivating the ground, everything she touched blossomed. She left a lasting impression on everyone she met and she made you feel like family. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, fishing, reading, and puzzles.

She met and married Jessie Edward Lamb on March 23, 1943 and to this union 13 children were born.

She was the true definition of beauty, genuine love, wisdom, strength, perseverance, sacrifice and inspiration. Although she was called many names; Mama, Mom, Madea, Grandmother, Grandma, Mama Adline, Mama Line, Mo Mo, Maw Maw, Big Mama, Granny, or GiGi, one thing remained the same, she loved and treated us all the same. She was and will forever be greatly loved by all who were blessed to know her. Even though we loved her and wanted her to stay, God loved her most and called her home on November 26, 2022. She will forever live on in our hearts.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Henrietta Simpson-Wiley (Albert Wiley) and Bob Patton. Husband: Jessie Edward Lamb, three daughters: Darla Skinner, Marion Lamb-Taylor, and Addie Kay Lamb, six sons: Henry Lamb, Monte Ray Lamb, Carl Wayne Lamb Sr, Ralph Lamb, Glenn Lamb and baby Otis Lamb, six sisters: Toledo, Elsie Mae, Corrine, Deilie, Snookum, and Catherine; ten brothers, Floyd, Abel, Sampson, Gerdine, George, Cornell, James T., Curtis, Isiac, and Cleotis.
