Betty Ruth Johnson was born September 18, 1936, to Cleo and Hattie Lee Johnson in Grapeland, TX. She United with Rising Star Baptist Church at an early age, where she served faithfully until her health failed.
In September of 1964, she united in matrimony with Charles Martinez. To this union, two children were born.
Betty loved cooking, cleaning, taking care of her family and talks and visits from family and friends.
Betty transitioned peacefully Wednesday, January 29, 2020, at Winfield Healthcare in Crockett, TX.
Betty was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
Left to cherish her wonderful memories are son Charles (Cathy) Martinez of Grapeland, TX, daughter, Charlotte Martinez, of Grapeland, TX; brothers Roy (Lois) Johnson of Portland, OR, Archie (Jackie) Johnson of Las Vegas, NV, Donald R. Johnson of Trinity, TX, Tommy Johnson of Huntsville, TX, and Arthur (Ledonia) Johnson of Grapeland, TX; sisters Alma D. Johnson of Grapeland, TX and Ruth (George) Pierson of Grapeland, TX; special nieces Neeky Pierson and Sophonia Johnson and special daughter Charlette Lomax; nine (9) grandchildren, and twelve (12) great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
