Billie Hill


Billie G. Hill (77) of Crockett, passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2017. Billie was born on October 23, 1940, in Malakoff, Texas to parents Jody and Pauline Hagen Hill. Billie grew up on a farm in Pennington, TX, where he, his brothers, and sisters learned to work hard which was a lesson throughout their adult life. In 1959 Billie graduated from Crockett High School.


Billie and wife Letty went in the restaurant business for 10-12 years. They also sold horse hay and small animals in Houston on their days off from TDCJ until his retirement in 2000. In 2004, he and Letty bought a motorcycle, installed a sidecar, and traveled many miles together. Billie never met a stranger and loved to talk; anyone who knew him can vouch for that. Billie said he was blessed and lived happy lives. He is of the Baptist Faith and attended the Good Shepherd Fellowship Church.


He is survived by sons Jacky K. Hill and wife Deana of Crockett, Russell G. Hill and wife Jody of Crockett, Grandson Brandon of Crockett and Granddaughter Tiffany Thomas and Justin of Willis, step-grandchildren Donna Goldston and Johnny of Lovelady, Johnna Goldston of Knoxville, TN, great-grandchildren Tristan of Crockett, and Reagan of Willis, step-great-grandchildren Annabelle and Isabelle Jones of Lovelady.


Brothers MacAllen and Donna of Corsicana, Jerry of San Augustine, Bobby of Teague, Sister Betty Estelle of Killen, one uncle Don Dehay and Louella of Amarillo, one aunt Francis Phillips and Bill of Fort Worth, mother-in-law Mamie Leggett of Alvin, sister-in-laws Rae Hill of Crockett, Betty Mensch and husband NC of Livingston, Brother-in-laws Rex Shupak of Lovelady, William J. Legett and wife Sherry of Lovelady, Ricky Leggett and wife Marla of Alvin and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family, friends and relatives.


A special thank you to a lifelong friend to Jody and Pauline Hill and children Mr. M.Q. Dominy of Pennington. In Lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to; The American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association or the charity of choice.


Visitation: Friday, November 10, 2017, 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM Good Shepherd Fellowship

Service: Saturday, November 11, 2017, 2:00 PM Good Shepherd Fellowship

Interment: Evergreen Cemetery Crockett, TX
