Brenda Jean Phillips, 79, of Grapeland, Texas, passed away on October 23, 2026, at Houston County Nursing Home. Brenda was born in Grapeland on January 24, 1947

to her parents, John Benjamin and Viola Johnston Collier.

Brenda was a devoted mother to her only son, Gary Wayne Phillips, until his death; she was also devoted to her parents and brother, Lathen Lee Collier, until their deaths.

She was a member of Fedler's Chapel. She loved going to church until she moved into Houston County Nursing Home; she would go to bible study or church while she was able.

Brenda is survived by her sisters, Sylvia Seals of Lubbock, Texas, Phyllis Hallatt and Jim Langston of Galveston, Texas, and Brother Tommy Collier and Lenita Collier of Arizona. And numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John B. Collier and Viola Johnston Collier; sister, Golda Herron; brothers, Lathen Lee Collier, Royce Wayne Collier, John William Collier Sr.; and only son, Gary Wayne Phillips.
