Charles Ray Walker was born in Beaumont, Texas May 22, 1959, to Sarah Jane Walker.
On December 17, Charles Ray Walker “Cool Breeze” heard God’s call and quietly slipped away.
Charles “Cool Breeze” was reared in Grapeland, Texas by his grandparents Nannie B. and Suvella Walker Sr.. Charles was reared in a Christian household he attended Grapeland School. Charles loved fishing, deer hunting and he had a love for football. He was pretty good at it he put Grapeland on the map. Charles was a member of the Grapeland High School 1974 State Championship Football Team. Charles was a free spirit person. He earned the nickname “Cool Breeze”, He loved everyone.
After graduation (Grapeland High School) Charles went into the Army at an early age. Charles retired from the Army 6 years active duty and 14 years in the Reserve. Charles was married twice which ended in divorce, no children.
Charles loved watching old western movies and WWE Smack Down wrestling, and family gatherings. Charles will be truly missed by all.
Charles was preceded in death by his mother Sarah Jane Walker, grandparents Nannie B. and Suvella Walker Sr., and sister Ester Faye Smith. Charles leaves to cherish his memories. One sister, Dorothy Witherspoon (Floyd) of Rancho Cucamonga, California; One brother, Michael Waters of Hampton, Virginia; Nieces, Antoinette Witherspoon, Adrienne Witherspoon, Jeree Waters, Chrystal Smith; Nephews, Cortland Witherspoon (Tiffany) and John Smith, Jr.; Great Nephews, Isaiah Castillo, Cortland Witherspoon Jr., Jamison Witherspoon and Nasir Shabaz; Great Nieces, Bailey Witherspoon, Marissa Smith, Christalblu Smith, Jada Waters, Alexus Waters; Great Great Niece, Charlotte Smith. Aunt Florine Melton, Uncles Suvella Walker and Lee Vern Walker.
