Early Life and Family Foundation
Charlette Renea Lomax was born on January 28, 1967 to Jesse C Lomax Sr. and Ethel J Burks Lomax. As the only girl and middle child, Charlette fondly maintained a unique and close relationship with her brothers. Being within 2 years apart from both of her siblings, Charlette grew up side by side, creating memories that remained cherished throughout their lives.
Education and Early Achievements
Charlette graduated from Grapeland High School in 1986. She was a proud basketball player for the Grapeland Sandiettes. Charlotte‘s educational journey led her to one of her callings: Through Graham’s Beauty College - Crockett, TX she became a licensed cosmetologist. Charlette’s sense of style and fashion was top notch and always admired. She took great pride and putting her best foot forward. The hats and ensembles she coordinated for herself and others were beyond expectations.
Career and Dedicated Services
Charlette had the Spiritual Gifts of Service and Helps. She worked compassionately and exuded tenacity and dedication through her career as a cosmetologist/beautician for over 30+ years Charlotte‘s knack for business led her to acquire her own beauty/barbershop with her brother/business partner, Rickey.
Faith and Spiritual Journey
At an early age, Charlette accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. As a member of Rising Star Baptist Church. She served with a willing heart in the choir and always offered her unwavering support to all ministries. Once Charlotte moved to Dallas, she became a member of True Vision Worship Center - Desoto, TX. She also remained faithful to her home church. Charlette began to travel frequently between Dallas and Grapeland, so she united with New Covenant Christian Fellowship under watch care. Worshipping at a Bible teaching church built on sound doctrine was extremely important to her.
A Heart for Service
Charlette was known for her warm spirit, genuine kindness, and true humility. She instantly connected to people through her smiles, hugs and acts of service. Charlette always accepted the opportunity to be a helping hand, offering prayer to all who needed it. The true embodiment of a Prayer warrior.

Tribute to Charlotte,
Charlotte was more than a childhood friend/cousin- she was family in every sense of the word: my sister cousin, my safe place, my constant. From our earliest days, she carried a light that never dimmed. She loved everyone she encountered and truly never met a stranger. Her positive energy filled every room, and her smile made people feel seen and welcomed.
Charlotte had a special love for life’s moments — especially capturing them through pictures, preserving memories the way she preserved relationships. She cherished her loved ones deeply: her parents, siblings, relatives, and friends, and she held a special place in her heart for Grandma Artie Bell. Family wasn’t just important to her — it was her…
Condolences from the Whitaker family. We will miss her beautiful smile.
