Chris Anthony Sowell was born in San Augustine, Texas on December 29, 1960. His mother always said he was her great belated Christmas gift. He passed away at home in Latexo, Texas on December 8, 2021.
He is survived by his wife, Thresa Dianne Sowell and his sons Matthew Tyler Sowell of Latexo, Texas, Joseph Lynn Harris and Ashley Harris of Latexo, Texas and Edward Lee Harris and Kaye Rollo of Crocket, Texas and 9 Grandkids. He is also survived by his sister, Gayle Wimberley Clark and her husband Dennis Clark of Hubbard, Texas, brothers: Randal Keith Sowell of Crocket, Texas, Joseph Brent Sowell and his wife Kalyn Sowell of Pflugerville, Texas and Brian Jason Mahan of Wylie, Texas, along with numerous nieces, nephews and many grandchildren.
Chris became a talented LVN after receiving his nursing degree from Angelina Junior College, Lufkin, Texas, graduating with Honors. He loved helping others and thought this was a calling as he helped many people during his career. Chris was also a talented artist. He played the guitar and keyboard, painted in oils and also had a tremendous knack for technology. Most of all he loved his family and friends and shared a wonderful sense of humor to get a smile or lift someone up. He was Saved and Baptized and has joined the Lord, leaving his pain behind.
He is preceded in death by his father Ray Taylor Sowell, mother Novis Nell (Steptoe) Sowell, sister Shirley Rae Sowell and bother Kenneth Taylor Sowell.
