Dolores B. Coleman was born July 13, 1930 in Harlem, NY to Lola Smith and Peter Ellis. She was the oldest of her sister’s . When she was a very young girl, she and her sisters left New York on a train headed South. That move sparked Dolores’ love for travel and would start her on her life’s journey.
New Orleans, LA is where she married Westly Rogers, Jr. on June 29, 1946; from this union Westly Rogers, III was born. Dolores adored her baby boy.
Her journey took her to Texas, Louisiana, and Milwaukee, WI. Each place she lived she touched so many lives of children and adults. She worked as a caregiver most of her life. Her passion was children. Dolores had a full-page article written about her in the Milwaukee Journal because of the asset she was to the Milwaukee County Foster Care Program. Dolores help to raise a lot of children in her family. She opened her heart and home to children who needed love and stability. She will never be forgotten, and will be missed tremendously.
Dolores is preceded in death by both parents; Peter B. Ellis and Lola Smith; daughter Domonique Coleman, son Westly Rogers, III; and great-grandson Keamauri Rogers.
Dolores is survived by everyone she loved and everyone who loved her.
