Donald Ray-Duncan was born on April 1, 1963, to Sam Duncan, Sr. and Willie Ealim Watson and raised by stepdad Booker T. Watson, Sr. From a young age, he accepted Christ, becoming a member of Creston Missionary Baptist Church.

Raised in Houston, Don attended Francis Scott Key School, where he built a strong foundation for his life. His dedication and work ethic extended beyond the military—Don went on to work as both a mechanic and a butcher, bringing heart and craftsmanship to his work.
