Edward Black, Jr. was the fifth child born to Edward Black, Sr. and Charlie C. Coleman Black. He united in marriage to Ruth Ellen Taylor and to that union four children were born.
Edward worked all his life and provided for his family. He retired from Vulcraft and began working at Bar-S-Ranch & Buckalew Ranch.
In 1988 Edward met and married Robin Gale. When the owners of Bar-S-Ranch & Buckalew Ranch stopped ranching, Edward went to work for Wade Pennington & Sons until his health declined.
Edward attended church at House of Prayer.
He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Henry Ross, DeWitt, and L.D. Black; one sister: Francis Potts; one son: Tony Taylor, Sr., two stepchildren: Timothy and Katrina Williams.
Edward is survived by his wife of 26 years: Robin Gale Black; two sons: Ray E. and Mitchell B. Black, one daughter: Virginia R. Black, one brother: James (Arnell) Dennis; eight sisters: Nancy (Myles) Ford, Aneace Houston, Rebecca Hines, Velma Walker, Rosie Black, Doris (Kevin) Hamilton, and Donna K. (John) Robinson all of Dallas, TX, and Patricia Black of Grapeland, TX. Eight grandchildren: Temitha Taylor, Adreous Black, Tony Taylor, Jr., DeNesha Black, Carnelious Taylor, Portia Pope, Octavius Black, Ray E. Black, Jr. Three great-grandchildren: Kaleb Pope, I’Trayvious Black, Kamryn Taylor. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
