Mrs. Eveline (Ellis) Gentry was born in Lovelady, Texas and raised in

Crockett, Texas by Mr. J.D. and Mrs. Ethel Ellis. In 1968 she moved to

Seattle, WA with her infant daughter, LaShandra Ellis. In the early 70’s, she

accepted the Lord and eventually made Northwest Evangelistic Center her

home church under the leadership of Pastor Harold Wood, where she was

active in the Prayer Ministry and choir. While a faithful member of this

church, she met and married her late husband Mr. Kenneth Gentry and

together they were blessed with a child who preceded them in death.

Eveline eventually became employed with the United States Postal

Service where she retired after 41 years of service. During her time on

the job, she operated under the spirit of evangelism as a witness for the

Lord, winning numerous souls for the kingdom of God. In 1991, she and

her husband became faithful members at Tabernacle of Praise Church

in Seattle, WA. She served in the prayer ministry and flowed in a strong

prophetic word until they moved to Texas in 2016 to be closer to family

where she lived until her passing.

Sister Eveline was loved by many and will always be remembered for

her contagious laughter and beautiful smile. Eveline is preceded in death

by her parents J.D. Ellis and Ethel Ellis; and her siblings: James Ellis,

Valine Ellis, Ethel Authorlee, J.D. Ellis, Jr., William Ellis, and Curtis Ellis.

She is survived by her daughter LaShandra Ellis of New Orleans, LA, her

Brother David Ellis and his wife Eugenia Ellis of Crockett TX, and her

sister Dorothy Davis of Crockett, TX. She has one Grandchild, Shetoia

Ellis, and one Great Grandchild, Darrin Hawkins, Jr.

A Personal Reflection for Sis. Ellis

As I reflect on the life of Sis. Ellis, I am reminded that some people leave a lasting imprint on our hearts. Sis. Ellis was one of those people. Her kindness, her quiet strength, and her faith made a lasting impression on me and so many others.

As I think about her life, I find myself grateful for the moments we shared, the conversations we had, and the example she set. I will remember her as someone who carried herself with grace and whose presence brought comfort and encouragement to those around her.

I find peace in God’s promise that this is not the end. His Word reminds me that “to be absent from…

Mommy, I thank God for the life that you lived and the example that you gave me as a believer in Jesus Christ. You were a soul winner for the Lord and didn’t want anyone to leave this world without accepting Christ as their personal Savior.

As a single parent, you always took care of me and made sure that I had everything that I needed to grow up to be a responsible adult.

I truly appreciate all that you have done for me and my daughter over the years and the love that you gave. I will truly miss you, your smile, your laughter and prayers that carried me through some of the hardest times in my life.

I…
