Helen was born on February 24, 1956, to the parents of the late S.T. Simpson-Thomas and Benny Lee Garner in Augusta, Texas. She attended school in Grapeland and Tyler, Texas.
She dedicated her life to Christ at an early age. She united with St. John Baptist Church and was presently attending The House of Prayer under the leadership of Rev. Jerome Simpson.
Helen loved to be around her family and friends. All she met, she loved and would do anything to help anyone, even if it meant giving her last.
On October 22, 2013, God whispered softly and told her to “come” her reply was “yes Lord”.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Annie Walker and Wilma Tillis, two brothers, Thomas Simpson and Charlie Thomas, grandparents, one aunt, and one uncle.
Left to continue celebrating her life are two sons, Russell Simpson and friend Nita of Gainsville, TX and Thomas Simpson of Elkhart, TX, and four grandchildren, Naim Simpson, Palestine, TX, Ahlivia and Brayden Simpson of Crockett, TX, and Curtis, (C.J.) Simpson, of Gainsville, TX.
