Inez Davis was born in Grapeland, Texas, on February 28, 1931, to Lovett Bud Jones and Jewel Harrison Jones. She attended Ralph Bunch School. She was a caregiver, and in her spare time, she enjoyed farming. Inez accepted Christ at an early age. She loved the Lord and enjoyed fellowshipping at her church. She was the mother of Unity Baptist Church in Grapeland, Texas. Inez passed on May 24, 2024, at Palestine Regional Hospital in the care of Solaris Hospice; she fell asleep to be with Jesus.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lovette Bud Jones and Jewel Harrison Jones; husband, Robert Lee Davis; mother-in-law, Ester Mae Redden (Big Moma); sisters, Costella Coleman, Ruby Jones, Becky Jones, Vera Gardner, and Rosa Lee Brooks; brothers, Lovi Jones, Charles Jones, Sam Jones, Joe Jones, and Fred Jones; three grandsons, Sammie Davis Jr., Kevin Walker, Eric Butler, and Steven Dupree; and granddaughter, Brandie Harmon.

She leaves to cherish her memory, brother Jack Jones; sons, Paul Davis (Cynthia) of Palestine, Texas, Leon Davis of Grapeland, Texas, Jimmy L. Davis (Lisa) of Palestine, Texas, Jeff Davis (Angela) of Grapeland, Texas; daughters, Faye Davis of Lufkin, Texas, Marylynn Davis of Lufkin, Texas, Shirley Monroe (John) of Lufkin, Texas, Eva Chapman, Marilyn Atkins of Grapeland, Texas, Genora Davis (Boo) of Crockett, Texas; a host of 35 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and 30 great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends who will cherish her memories.
