Janet Walker (70) was born November 2, 1951 in Grapeland, Texas. She was the fifteenth (15) child born to Bailey Walker, Sr. and Alice Beasley Walker. Janet attended W.R. Banks. During her life, Janet touched many of our lives with her fun loving way of making us laugh.
As a young girl, she accepted Christ at an early age and attended Old Zion Church.
She moved to Lufkin and worked at Ames Fried Chicken for many years. She later relocated to Palestine, Texas and worked at Cartmell Nursing Home.
In 1977, Janet met Paul Davis, Sr. and they were blessed with two (2) sons, and four (4) step-sons. She loved music, dancing, and she could sing.
Janet transitioned peacefully, Thursday, April 14, 2022.
Janet is preceded in death by both parents, Bailey Walker, Sr. and Alice Walker; brothers Spencer Walker, A.B. Walker, Sr., James Walker, Bailey Walker, Jr., Lorenza Walker, Sylvester Walker, twin boys; sisters Gertrude Simpson, Vera Taylor, LuCindy Walker, Glinda Walker; and a young lady she loved as a daughter, Kendra Cherral Fulton,.
Left to cherish Janet’s memories are her sons Jamie Walker, Palestine, TX, Steven Davis, and Keith Davis, of Grapeland, TX, Anthony Wayne Davis, Paul Davis, Jr., and Robert Lynn Davis, of Lufkin, TX; sisters Jannie Williby, and Stella Walker of Grapeland, TX, and Elwanda Taylor, of Lufkin, TX; nine (9) grandchildren, eight (8) great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
