Mrs. Jannie Lee Moore- Jones was born on March 17, 1934, in Dallas, TX, to the parentage of the late Mike Moore and Ozeller Walker- Toliver (stepfather Arthur W. Toliver “Toad”). She is the oldest daughter of five children and a sister of step siblings. Jannie resided in Grapeland, TX the past seventeen years after moving back from Crosby, TX . She was welcomed home from labor to rest by Our Heavenly Father at 83 years of age on June 7, 2017, at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston TX. She was the widow of the late Mr. Fred Jones, Jr. and mother to Fred Jones III (Bridget), Deloria Jones (Sylvia), John Jones (Judy), Icie Jones- McFarland (Roderick) Gloritta Jones-Nelms (Willard) Agnes Jones and the late Kenneth Jones and Patsy Faye Jones-Curry. She was big sister to Curtis (Julia) Toliver, Fletcher (Rene) Toliver of Houston, TX, Ozie Toliver- Martinez of Lufkin, TX, and Louise McDaniel-Simon of Grapeland, TX and those siblings who proceeded her in death, the late Louis Toliver, Jessie Toliver, Napoleon Toliver, Frank Toliver, Arthur B. Toliver, Dotson Moore and Dorothy Moore, and Sister-in-law to Liz Toliver of Houston, TX. She leaves to carry on her legacy of love and laughter her children, siblings, a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was an active, well-known, and highly respected member of the Grapeland Community and an avid church member of the Rising Star BC where she served on the Missionary and Usher Board. A Public Viewing of Mrs. Jones will commence on Thursday, June 15, 2017, 4:00-7:00 PM at Walker and Walker Funeral Home 323 W. Chestnut St in Grapeland, TX. Funeral Services for Mrs. Jannie Lee Jones will be held on Friday, June 16, 2017, at 10:00 AM at the Rising Star BC 327 US 287 Bypass in Grapeland, TX, Rev. Lawrence Brown, Officiating. A Graveside Memorial Service will follow for family and friends in the Houston Area at the San Jacinto Memorial Cemetery 14659 East Freeway, Houston, TX at 3:00 PM. A Repast will be held at the M.L. Flukinger Community Center 16003 Lorenzo St in Channelview, TX at 4:00-7:00 PM.
