Johnny Lee McCoy was born on June 5, 1953 to his parents, Silas and Jewel McCoy, in Grapeland, TX. He was the 6th sibling and attended school at W.R. Banks in Grapeland, TX.
He was a member of Rising Star Baptist Church, and he loved being the “security guard” at the Whitehall Nursing Home, which was also his family. He knew exactly who came in or went out of the door at the Nursing Home.
Johnny loved to fish with his family or anyone that came by to take him.
He fell asleep on July 30th, 2026. Johnny McCoy was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Cary Spearman, Herman McCoy, Tim McCoy, Edward McCoy, and Annie McCoy.
Johnny is survived by his brothers Jimmy McCoy (Regina) of Dallas, TX; Charlie McCoy (Sandra) of Flagstaff, AZ; James McCoy of Dallas, TX; Joe McCoy (Sharee) Dallas, TX; his sisters Joyce Ann McCoy of Dallas, TX; Linda McCoy of Dallas, TX; and Jewel Smith (Danny) of Grapeland, TX.
And a host of nieces and nephews, and other family members
