June 15, 1973, LaWanda and Ralph Lamb were blessed with a beautiful baby girl, LaMonica LaShelle Lamb. Monica started school in Pecos, Texas and transferred to Kennard High School in the 10th grade. She graduated from Kennard High School, Class of 1991. She was a member of St. James Baptist Church in Pecos, Texas.
Following graduation, she began a career as a correctional officer for Texas Department of Criminal Justice; and later became a vocational director for Educare until her health began to fail.
Monica’s hobbies included cooking, fishing and she loved horror movies.
On Friday, September 8, 2023, Monica was peacefully called home while sleeping.
Monica is preceded in death by her father, Ralph Lamb, grandparents Alene Smith, Monice Smith, Bob Ephriam, and Edward and Adline Lamb.
Left to cherish her memories are her mother LaWanda Lamb, Ratcliff, TX; sisters Demetria Patton, Tadmor, TX, Ralana Coleman (Terence Coleman), Ratcliff, TX; aunts Tina Ephriam, Mary Nell Willis, Mary Louise Lamb, Wanda Faye Warfield, Cheryl Thomas; uncles Jack Ephriam, Willie Glen Ephriam, Lamont Ephriam, Lawrence Ephriam, Larry Lamb, Jeff Skinner; nephew Terence Malik Coleman, niece Melody Harris-Walton (Lanny Walton), MeKhenzie Noble; great-niece Jada Walton, great-nephew J’Karee Harris; and a host of other relatives and friends.
