It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lee Alan Lively, 79, on Sunday evening, 10/6/24, at Forest Ridge Assisted Living in Woodland Park, CO. Lee fought a long, tough battle with dementia then ultimately respiratory complications.
Lee was born in Fort Worth, TX, April 8, 1945. He attended high school at Polytechnic High School in Fort Worth plus a brief time in Waco, TX. Lee was drafted into the Army in 1966. Upon discharge from the Army, Lee returned to Texas Electric Service Company in Fort Worth where he worked for over 30 years. Lee was a lineman most of his working career.
Friends and family would describe Lee as a strong, hard-working man. He loved to tinker with old cars starting with Volkswagen Beatles back in the 1970s up to an old Chevy work truck he acquired from one of his friends with Texas Electric Service Company. He enjoyed the “western” lifestyle and working with horses and cattle. His true joy came from spending time at the family farm in East Texas.
Lee was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Turentine Lively, and father Henry Lively. Lee was an only child. He is survived by wife, Linda Gilfilen Lively; son, Tommy Lively; daughter Tammie Lively Fuhrmann and husband Leonard Fuhrmann along with granddaughters Christy and Sarah, all of Lake George, CO.
Should you wish to offer an expression of sympathy, the family asks that in lieu of flowers or gifts, you make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association at https://www.alz.org/ in honor of Lee Lively.
