Letetia “Sue” Akin

Letetia “Sue” Akin, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt peacefully passed away on Wednesday the 5th of February 2014. Sue was born to Billy Haws and Doris (Fowler) in Houston, Texas on September 6, 1956.  She is preceded in death by her father, mother, brothers, Homer Middleton and Donald Emerson and her son, Eddie R. Akin.

She is survived by her children, Melanie and Jeff Bartulla and Kelly Akin; grandchildren, Skylar and Ashlyn Akin, sister, Billie Dillard, and brother, Johnny Emerson, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.

She had a kind heart and loved her family with all she had.  She instilled in her children the value of being kind and living life to the fullest.  She had a wonderful smile, an infectious laugh and loved sharing both with those she encountered.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider making a donation to your local ASPCA or Humane Society and/or consider becoming an organ donor in honor of Sue’s belief that saving lives, whether pet or human was the noblest of causes. Sue loved animals and she always knew and believed that being an organ donor could save lives.
