Lonell “Lonnie” Burnett Jackson was born on June 28, 1961, to Lonell and Ruthie Marie Jackson in Crockett, Texas.
Lonnie grew up in Grapeland and attended Grapeland public schools. He loved football and played several positions for the Grapeland High School football team, even leading his team to the playoffs. He was a loyal Washington Redskins fan.
Lonnie accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at New Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Germany, TX. He was later ordained as a deacon and moved his membership to New Deliverance Fellowship Ministries, under Bishop Kenneth Stringfellow, where he served as a Deacon until he was called home. Lonnie was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother and friend. He provided genuine love and care for everyone he met. In addition to the love for his family, his cheerfulness and glowing smile; his goodness of heart was evident to all mankind.
Lonnie’s transition from life on earth to life eternal came on December 4, 2019, in Houston, Texas. Many memories are left to his loving wife Glenda Jackson; two loving sons, Daren Hart (Carla) of Grapeland, TX; and Cameron “Shack-Daddy” Davis, of Crockett, Texas; one daughter, Lakeisha Cain (Azell) of Missouri City, TX. Five granddaughters and four grandsons. Three sisters, Artie Simon (Charles) of Crockett, TX; Sharon Jackson of Houston, TX and Tiffani Jackson Grady (Ced) of Dallas, TX. One brother Charles Jackson (Mary) of Crockett, TX. Two devoted friends for over 20 years, Frederick Williams, Albert Shepherd. Also a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Devontae Jackson; one brother, Willie B. Jackson; one sister, Ruthie Mae Davis; and his grandparents.
