Luna Raye Bennett, age 81 of Grapeland went to meet her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on December 13, 2014, at ETMC Hospital in Tyler, Texas. Luna was born on January 16, 1933, in Latexo, Texas and had resided in Grapeland for the majority of her life.
Left to mourn her passing is her daughter (Mollie) Deloris Patten and husband Ronny of Elkhart, TX, two beloved grandsons Jeffery Willoughby (Alisha) of Grapeland and Joey Willoughby (Rebecca) of Rogers, AR. One brother Raymond J. (Pete) Boykin of Crockett, TX, six step-grandchildren: Ronny Jr. and Jeremy Patten and Candie Donnelly of New Hampshire, eight step-great-grandchildren: Ashley, Andrew, and Cecily of Grapeland and Callum, Kiley, Katelyn, Alana, and Halee of New Hampshire, three nephews Steve, Johnny, and Carl Boykin, and a host of great-nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceding her in death are her parents Raymond and Flora (Marshall) Boykin Sr. and her husband of 26 years J.B. Bennett.
Luna loved Jesus and her family was her life. She enjoyed reading her Bible, sewing, doing word seek puzzles and the Game Show Network.
Memorial services for Luna will be held Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at New Hope Baptist Church in Grapeland, TX with Revs. Duane and Josh Mills officiating.
