Mary went home to be with the Lord July 19, 2025, surrounded by family and friends. She was born on August 1, 1956, in Slaton, TX, to Bobby and Laverne Cardwell.
Mary was a very loving and caring woman. She loved life, fishing, drawing, picking her guitar, singing, and writing music. She also loved playing games of all kinds, especially card games like Canasta. Most of all, she loved her family with all of her heart.
Mary is survived by her step-mom, Kay Cardwell of Pasadena, TX.; son, David Knowles (D’Andrea) of Crockett, TX; daughter, Audrey Newman of Bacliff, TX; Brothers, Ronald Cardwell (Shelly) of Angleton, TX, Gerry Cardwell (Donna) of Cedar Creek, TX, Dwayne Cardwell (Carmen) of Texas City, TX; Sisters, Angela Hunley (Ron) of Palestine, TX, Melanie Pruitt (Tracy) of Pasadena, TX, Shareen Creekmore (Shane) of League City, TX, Rochelle Garcia (Manny) of Ft. Stockton, TX, Charity Baker (David) of Houston, TX, Tonia Baker (David) of Benton, MO; grandchildren, Brittani Knowles, Felycia Robinson (Robby), Chelsee Albrecht (Brandon), Darren Knowles, Clayton George, Dennis Newman, Jr., Ryan Newman; great grandchildren, David Knowles II, Addie Albrecht, Wayne Albrecht, Sabrina Albrecht, Loretta Taylor (Anthony), Brittany Albrecht, Brantley Robinson, Braxon Robinson, Hunter Robinson, Alaki Ellis, and Landon Robinson.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Bobby Don Cardwell and Letha Laverne Wells-Cardwell.

Grandma Cardwell and the rest of us always enjoyed listening to Mary Ann play and sing. Now she will be playing and singing to all of them in heaven. We will see her again there some day in the future! Wow what a choir that will be.
