Raymond Smith was born November 26, 1956, in Grapeland, Texas to the parentage of Chester Smith and Adell Smith. Raymond accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Pennington Chapel Baptist Church. He also attended Grapeland Schools.
Raymond was a hard worker. He started farming at an early age and enjoyed the outdoors. He loved fishing and hunting.
Raymond transitioned peacefully at Tyler Christian Mother Francis Hospital on Tuesday, February 18th.
Raymond is preceded in death by his parents Chester and Adell Smith, and brother Larry Smith. Raymond will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Left to cherish Raymond’s memories are sons, Raymond Smith, Jr., and Raymond James of Crockett, and Stevenson Lewis of Grapeland, Texas; daughters, Erica Lewis of Grapeland, Texas, Martha McKnight, Felicia James and Stephanie Foreman of Crockett, Texas, Veita Sadler of Palestine, Texas, and Savannah Lewis of Texas City, Texas; brother, Danny Smith of Grapeland, Texas; sisters, Ida Ross of Duncanville, Texas, and Ida Wagner, Pearlie Davis and Mattie Coleman of Grapeland, Texas; sister-in-law, Jewel Smith of Grapeland, Texas; girlfriend, Linda Lewis of Grapeland, Texas; nine grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
