On the blessed day of October 26, 1960, proud and loving parents Zimeriah and Faustine (Daniels) Taylor welcomed their 9th child, Shirley Marie Taylor, into the world.
With the blessing of being raised in a loving, Christian home, Shirley accepted Christ at an early age and was a lifelong member of New Salem Baptist Church, where she served in the choir, in mission, and in the hospitality department. She also served in many other capacities throughout her life and was always willing to give honor and praise to the Lord for all things.
Shirley was raised in the Latexo community and graduated from Latexo High School. She furthered her studies at Angelina Jr. College, where she received a Medication Aide Certification.
During her life, Shirley touched many lives. Her door was always open and she would lend her hand to anyone in any way that she could. She was guaranteed to have you laughing with one of her many stories. As a staple member of the community, she was well-known and loved, and she will be dearly missed.
Shirley, who shared fifty-four (54) beautiful years on earth, entered eternal rest on Friday, August 21, 2015. She is preceded in death by her parents, Zimeriah and Faustine Taylor.
Left to cherish her memories are her children Tracy Taylor, and Gary (Krystal) Taylor of Crockett.
