Sue Kindred

Sue was born on February 28, 1944 to Hardy and Ellen Huenerberg. She was the 3^rd in a line of 8 siblings. She grew up in the Spring/Houston area in a large loving family.

Sue married the love of her life, Bill Kindred, on March 2, 1963. Together they built a family with four children. They moved the family to Grapeland, TX. in 1979, and it quickly became home. She worked briefly at the Grapeland Co-op and occasionally worked at local grocery stores. After Bill passed in 2002, Sue went to work as a Nutritional Aid at Cartmell Home in Palestine, TX. She loved the residents as much as they loved her.

Sue was a member of Grapeland Baptist Church and was active in helping with VBS, Live Nativity, and anywhere else she was needed. Her presence will be missed.

Family was important to her. She loved get-togethers. She always had a special relationship with her siblings. Sister trips were a must. She delighted in her kids. She called all the grands and greats “kids”. Anyone who knew her was always hearing something about the “kids”. They put a special sparle in her eye.

Sue is preceded in death by her Parents;  Spouse, William Kindred, Sr.; Son, Joseph Cameron Kindred; Granddaughter, Amberly Salmon; Sons-in-Law, Carlos Berber and Ted Salmon; Sister, Ginger Cook; and Brother, Jerry Huenerberg.

She is survived by her Son, William Kindred, Jr. of Winnsboro, TX.; Daughters, Kimberly Kindred Salmon of Grapeland, TX. and Karen Kindred Hickson (Jeff) of Colorado City, TX.; Sisters; Madeleine Martin of Flynn, TX., Janette Hranitzky (Bernie) of Yoakum, TX., Phyllis Shirey (David) of Palestine, TX., and LaVeene Conway of Tomball, TX.; ten Grandchildren and 21 Great Grandchildren.

She will be missed by all who knew her. Though she was small in stature, she was mighty in spirit; bold and full of life.

Pallbearers at the service include Jaden Lively, Cameron Kindred, Gaven Salmon, Dustin Shirey, John Phillips, and Gavin Shirey.
