Thomas Alan Sherrod Jr., known to most as Tom, was born February 5, 1960 to Lucy and Alan Sherrod. He was called home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on November 22, 2022. Tom grew up most of his life in Crockett and passed away in Latexo, TX. Tom was an artist, mason, rancher, and oil field worker. He was a hard worker and loved working with his hands. He loved working for Kevin and Diana Maxwell on their property and ranch. He loved hunting and fishing and probably the thought the “Four Seasons” were fishing season, deer season, turkey season, and dove season. He was a story teller, philosopher, and a comedian. Tom could make you laugh until you cry. He never met a stranger and loved to talk! He loved his family and church family. He loved his momma and called her almost every day. Most importantly he loved God. Tom was a wonderful Husband, Dad, PawPaw Son, Brother, and Friend.
Tom is survived by his wife and best friend, Kim Sherrod; children, Brandon Sherrod and wife Carly, Katrin Low and fiancé Thomas, and Radley Low, and son-in-law Kenny Leediker. He is also survived by his grandchildren Andee and Ivey Sherrod, Gauge and Sy Low, Zayden, Coe, Avery Leediker and Lane Mancilla. Tom also leaves behind his mother, Lucy Sherrod; sisters, Tracy Minter, Donna Garret, and brothers-in-law Johnny Garrett, Raymond and Elton Christoph, William Bennett and sister-in-law De’An Bennett. Also left to cherish his memory are many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and lots of friends.
Tom is preceded in death by his father Thomas Alan Sherrod Sr., grandparents Tommy and Thelma Sherrod and Joe and Lela J. Spink; mother-in-law Ernestene Bennett; brother-in-law Bobby Minter and nephew, Brian Stewart.
