Tranard DeSean Stafford, lovingly known to many as “Sean” and “Big Tra”, was born on March 5, 1972, in Houston Texas, to Roosevelt and Celeste Stafford. He was the youngest of three boys. He attended school and was raised in South Park Texas, where his roots, faith, and character were firmly planted.
Tranard grew up in the Catholic Church, which shaped his values and early spiritual foundation. As a young man, he became a Knight of St. Peter Claver, demonstrating his commitment to service and brotherhood. He was later accepted into Magnolia Lodge #3, Prince Hall Free and Accepted Masons, an honor he carried with pride. In 2018, Tranard joined Silverlake Church, where he faithfully served with the Greeters Ministry, welcoming others with the warmth and friendliness that came so naturally to him.
The greatest joy of Tranard’s life was his two daughters, Skylar and Morgan (mother Barbara Smith). Being their provider, protector, and friend was his proudest role. His love for them was deep, unwavering, and evident to all who knew him.
Tranard dedicated over 20 years of his professional life to the automobile industry, where he became highly respected for his expertise in inspecting and appraising vehicles. In 2019, he made a courageous career transition by earning his Commercial Driver’s License and starting a new career in trucking and transportation.
He had a true passion for music, trail riding, and zydeco dancing. Once he hit the dance floor, he couldn’t be touched! Smooth! Confident! Full of rhythm! Tranard moved with a joy that matched his spirit. Known as the life of the party, he lit up every room with his humor, loud voice, and contagious smile. He loved to have a good time.
In 2019, Tranard married his best friend, Kim Bailey. Together, they formed one family, bound by love, where the word “stepchild” had no place, and unity defined their home.
Though a big man in stature, Tranard was truly a gentle giant, overflowing with love and compassion. He was a good friend to many. His presence, laughter, guidance, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Tranard was preceded in death by his father, role model, and hero, Roosevelt Stafford; his grandparents Alton and Izola Gradnigo Rayme; and James and Pearl Stafford.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Kimberly Stafford; daughters Skylar (Jared) Rollins, Morgan (Keylon) LaSalle, Porschia (Sedrick) Scott, and Latravia Bailey; sons Trevion Bailey and Prentis Bailey; his mother, Celeste Stafford; brothers Quentin Stafford and Alonzo Stafford; a cousin who was more like a sister, Yosha Calvin; his best friend who was more like a brother, Aaron Piece; 15 grandchildren; and a host of cherished aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
