Winford Shepherd (70) was born February 10, 1951 in Grapeland, TX. Winford was the eighth of nine children born to Jessie Bell Shepherd and R. L. Shepherd. He grew up in the Dailey Community and attended W. R. Banks High School. His class was the first class to intergrate Grapeland High School.
Winford worked at Vulcraft and Wal-Mart Warehouse. He was a hardworking family man who loved his family dearly. He was a member of Rising Star Baptist Church.
Winford departed his earthly home on Tuesday, February 8, 2022. He is preceded in death by both parents Jessie Bell Johnson Shepherd and R. L. Shepherd; granddaughter Faith Danielle Bell; daughter Alicia Shepherd; brothers James L. Shepherd, A.J. Shepherd, Charles Shepherd and Lee Terell Shepherd; and granddaughter Keishawra Shepherd.
Left to cherish his memories are sons Winford Louis Shepherd, Jr., of Tyler, TX, Kendi Page of Tyler, TX; daughters Sonia Williams of Grapeland, TX and future son-in-law Carlos Mayberry of Waco, TX, Amber Shepherd of Whitehouse, TX, Cindy (Anthony) Sims of Tyler, TX; brothers Edward (Gloretha) Shepherd, and Willie Fadell Shepherd, all of Grapeland, Texas; sisters Barbara Nell Franklin of Houston, Texas and Wanda Faye Black of Grapeland, TX; eleven (11) grandchildren, eleven (11) greatgrandchildren; special friends Morris (Toot) Shepherd, Toby Taylor and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.Grapeland High School.
