Joe Mitchell Jr.

Mr. Joe Mitchell Jr., 81 of Grapeland, TX transitioned Wednesday, September 3, 2014, at the home of his daughter in Lexington, KY. Mr. Mitchell was the 3rd child born to Bertha and Joe Mitchell in Oakwood, TX. Mr. Mitchell was raised in the Cedar Branch community and attended Cedar Branch Baptist Church. He enlisted in the U.S. Army at an early age and devoted 20 years of service. After his retirement, he began a second career as a truck driver. Mr. Mitchell was very fond of his hometown, and after his second retirement, he and his wife of over 50 years moved back to Grapeland.
