Kathy Rush

Kathy Lanell Rush (61) resident of Grapeland, TX transitioned Saturday, October 3, 2015, at Windfield Nursing Home, Crockett, TX. Kathy was born on February 23, 1954, to Carl Prewitt and Martheal Carney in Austin, TX. She grew up in Crockett, TX, graduated from Crockett High School, and was a member of Central Baptist Church in Crockett, TX. Kathy worked in Credit and Collections and on the auxiliary for American Legion.  On August 31, 2012, she married Bobby Rush. Kathy loved her friends and believed “A friend is a beautiful act of kindness from the heart of God, and there is heaven in every friendship.” Kathy is preceded in death by her grandparents Paul and Rename Gest; parents Carl Prewitt and Martheal Carney; and brother Rodney Carney. Left to cherish Kathy’s memories is her son Richard (Jodie) Cain, of Humble, TX; daughters Tisa Watt, Crosby, TX, and stepdaughter Erin Rush, Galveston, TX; brothers Mike Prewitt, Houston, TX, Rick (Jackie) Prewitt, Mesa, AZ, Richard (Anita) Carrey, Houston, TX, Bruce (Rhonda) Prewitt, Mesa, AZ, Donald (Robin) Rush, Crockett, TX; sisters Paulette Gori, Needville, TX, Carla (Tom) Walton, Nashville, TN, Karen (Jim) Gearheart, Lakeview, OH, Sheila (Larry) Beaty, Manvel, TX, Gayle Goode, Lovelady, TX and Nancy Gregory, Grapeland, TX; seven (7) grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, and friends.
