Margie Henderson
Margie Ann Stewart Henderson (82), passed peacefully at her home in Kennard, Texas, on Thursday, February 23, 2017, surrounded by family, love ones; and her beloved dogs and cats. She was born on April 16, 1934, in Lovelady, Texas, to parents, Hazel and Herman Stewart. She lived the early part of her life in the Lovelady and Crockett area. In 1954 she married, Gordon M. Henderson; and they made Houston, Texas their home where she raised her four children. She was a loving, caring, and devoted mother. In 1977 her husband passed away and she moved back to Houston County to be near her family. She was a member of the Baptist Church and worked as a seamstress for over 20 years. She had a tremendous love for all animals; and was an animal advocate, working hard to stop animal abuse and neglect. She was one of a kind lady and a true friend. Left to cherish her memories are her four children, all of Kennard: Gary Henderson, Kathy Henderson (Robert Ratliff), Pamela Minton, and Perry (Brinda) Henderson. Grandchildren: Latrina (Ed) Monk, Gordon Henderson, Jimmy (Lisa) Henderson, Rachel (Shane) Land, Ricky Minton, Tommy Minton (Kim Mckerreghan), Christal Owens. Great-grandchildren: David, Nathan, Cody, Kaylie, Alexzander Wayne, Christopher, Mary Ann, Samuel, Shelton. Numerous nieces and nephews. Sister: Patsy Johnson and Brothers: Jerry Stewart and Terry Stewart, all of Houston County. Cousin and dear friend, Marlene Graham. Special family member, caregiver, and friend, Kathy Brasher. Dearest friends, Glenda and David Griffin, Martha Andrews, and Louise Moake. Beloved dogs: Peaches, Tutz Ann, Zoey Marie, Dolly Madison, Madea, Biskit; cats: Lvira, George Jones, and Big Mama — all of which were rescues. She is preceded in death by her parents, Hazel and Herman Stewart; husband, Gordon M. Henderson; cousin and dear friend, Jean Gregg, and special friend, Frank J. Griffin. A memorial will be held at the Welches Cemetery; date and time will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers/food please make a donation to The Humane Society of Angelina County, 1102 N.
