May 28, 1967 - May 14, 2020 Sheri Rene Walker Lewis was born in Grapeland, TX, May 28, 1967 to Mae Ollice Walker and Joe Nathan Abbs. Sheri was raised in Grapeland and attended Grapeland schools. To know Sheri is to love Sheri! Sheri was a fun outgoing person, who never backed down in telling you the truth. She was a great friend who loved her family and grandkids dearly. Sheri was the person you always wanted by your side to help you along life’s journey. Whether she was working, cooking you a meal or having fun, she always had a way of encouraging others - to live and enjoy life. In 1997 Sheri attained her dream by receiving a degree in Cosmetology in Nacogdoches, TX. Sheri worked for many years as a hair stylist in Houston and Dallas before entering into the Healthcare field. Sheri was last employed as a Nurse’s aide, at Elkhart Oaks Care Center, in Elkhart TX. On May 14, 2020 Sheri transitioned to a place of love, comfort and eternal life. She will be GREATLY missed! Sheri is preceded in death by her granddaughter Tryona Whitt, mother, Mae Ollice Walker Willis, step-dad L.D. Black, grandparents Nannie B. and Suvella Walker, uncle, Roosevelt Murray and friend Shiela Flood. Left to cherish the life and legacy of Sheri is father Joe Nathan Abbs, Dallas, TX; her four children: Sharena Walker, Cedrick Lewis, of Grapeland, TX, Byron Lewis, Houston, TX, Sharee (Christopher) Lewis, Webster, TX, step-daughter Shonte Sandles, Crockett, TX; grandkids Jayreon Whitt, Jordan Brown, Byron Lewis, Jr., Jada Bowie, Jordan Grantt, Elijah Walker, Darian Lewis, Da’von Lewis, Kraylen Brownlee, Amir Lewis, Chrishon Brownlee, Kei’Don Brownlee, King Lewis, step-grandkids Shonia Sandles, Steven Sandles, Jr.; 4 great-grands Chasen, Jayveon, Kingston and Manuel, Jr.; brothers Shane (Loytoya) Black, Grapeland, TX, Marcus Abbs, Dallas, TX; sisters Chenequa Abbs, Ebony S.
